One of the best articles I’ve read about working! I really like that you talk about how to maximize yourself even IF you are working for a company. Even though I’m interested in running a business, it doesn’t mean that entrepreneurship is for everyone. I like how you address that

Oh, and a tip I’m sure some have used – I find that white noise with websites like SImply Noise or apps like Noisy really help me stay focused.

Great idea Andrew! Ambient music can be an excellent way to enhance the minimalist workweek. I’m a big fan of listening to some calm Philip Glass, such as his Solo Piano album. His work is peaceful and motivational at the same time.

That’s totally true Fabian. My intention was more to suggest staying away from the overtly negative people at the office.

There can be some intelligent folks who can contribute to the value you’re reating in any work situation, but there are also the perpetual downers and job lifers who do nothing but whine. It’s very easy to get sucked into this mentality of constantly degrading everyone else’s work and your own, but this negative view can be dangerously contagious.

Steer clear of those people, not the ones who can help you.
